Honey-Cinnamon Oatmeal with Dried Fruit
Ingredients:
- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup dried fruit medley (or your preferred equivalent)
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 4 cups water
Instructions:
- Boil Water: In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
- Add Oats: Once the water is boiling, stir in the rolled oats and reduce the heat to medium-low. Allow the oats to simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Season: Stir in the cinnamon and salt (if using), ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the oatmeal.
- Sweeten: Add the brown sugar and honey to the oats, mixing well until fully dissolved and incorporated.
- Add Dried Fruit: Stir in the dried fruit medley. Let the oatmeal cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together and the dried fruit to soften.
- Serve: Remove from heat and let the oatmeal sit for a minute to thicken slightly. Divide the oatmeal into 8 bowls and enjoy!
Tips:
- Customization: Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey or brown sugar to taste.
- Optional Toppings: Top with a drizzle of extra honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or even a handful of nuts for added texture and flavor.
This recipe is great for a warm, hearty breakfast that’s easy to prepare and packed with natural sweetness from honey and dried fruit.
