Hearty Bean Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Soup:
- 1/2 cup dried kidney beans
- 1/2 cup dried black beans
- 1/2 cup dried pinto beans
- 1/2 cup dried white or navy beans
Spice Mix:
- 2 teaspoons garlic salt
- 2 tablespoons powdered beef bouillon (or chicken, if preferred)
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions:

Prepare the Beans:
- In a large bowl, combine the dried kidney beans, black beans, pinto beans, and white or navy beans. Mix well.
- Rinse the beans thoroughly under cold water to remove any debris.

Cook the Beans:
- Transfer the beans to a large crock pot or slow cooker.
- Add 8 cups of water or broth to the crock pot.
- Stir in the garlic salt, powdered bouillon, onion powder, red pepper flakes, chili powder, black pepper, and salt.

Slow Cook the Soup:
- Set the crock pot to low and cook for 8-10 hours, or set to high and cook for 4-5 hours, until the beans are tender and the flavors are well combined.

Serve:
- Once cooked, stir the soup well and adjust seasoning to taste if necessary.
- Serve hot, accompanied by Cast Iron Skillet Bread or Rustic No Yeast Bread for a hearty and comforting meal.
